About Courtney

Courtney sees accounting as the story of an organization. Looking at the books tells how the organization has developed and can provide a roadmap of strengths and weaknesses to guide decision making. By improving processes and controls, an organization can ensure that their books provide a true picture of their organization and allow them to make informed decisions about their future.

Background

Before joining SPRCHRGR, Courtney had experience in a wide variety of industries. She started her career working for a company that ran private air terminals serving Corporate Aviation. She developed processes for each location and worked with managers with a wide range of accounting knowledge to provide analysis of their business. She then spent 11 years working for an international manufacturing company as a controller over several manufacturing plants. While there, she streamlined the month end close process, implemented a new ERP system and developed internal controls primarily around inventory management.

Throughout her career, Courtney has enjoyed supporting organizations and helping them to understand the story their books are telling them.

Off the clock

"I am a lifelong learner and an insatiable reader. I primarily read fiction books with some history and biographies mixed in. I love curling up in a cozy chair on a rainy afternoon with my cat and losing myself in a good book.

I have a passion for the arts and take great pride in having raised two children who are devoted music nerds. As a family we have always been very involved in music and theater. In addition to music, I express my artistic side through needlearts. My grandmother taught me to crochet and I continue to enjoy working on afghans. My go to craft is cross stitching and most evenings I wind down by working on pieces ranging from reproduction samplers to quotes from my favorite musicals and books. My most recent challenge has been to learn knitting. I am determined to learn to make socks and sweaters for my family.

I am also a devoted sports fan. As a graduate of Texas A&M, I continue to be an avid follower of all things Aggie and spend my fall following the ups and downs of college football."
