About Wendy

Since 2008, Wendy has worked in public accounting, private industry accounting and quasi-governmental accounting. She brings her diverse expertise — along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment — to SPRCHRGR and our clients.

Wendy has over 7 years of experience at CPA firms where she started as a Staff Accountant and worked her way up to Senior Staff Accountant and Senior Tax Accountant. The duties that accompanied these positions, such as prepping financial statements, running and reviewing payroll and payroll tax reports, individual and corporate tax preparation and performing non-profit audits has provided a wide array of accounting and tax experience that she utilizes daily in her current position with SPRCHRGR. She approaches her accounts with knowledge and mindset from both an accounting and tax perspective which allows her to provide accurate financials while also assisting in the ease of tax preparation for her client’s CPA’s.

Background

Prior to joining SPRCHRGR, Wendy was Financial Controller at a group of companies in the construction, farming and rental industries. In overseeing all the companies' accounting departments and financial functions, she reviewed, investigated and corrected errors and inconsistencies in documentation prepared by bookkeeping staff, maintained companies' balance sheets and prepared monthly and year-end financial statements. She prepared and maintained annual crop budgets, cost allocations and in-depth analysis of budget versus actuals. She improved the companies’ cost accounting systems to provide a more thorough and accurate depiction of company operations.

Off the clock

As a wife and mother of three, Wendy never feels like she’s “Off the Clock” since there is always something that needs to be done. Wendy prides herself on being “That Mom”. She went from cheerleading in high school and college to cheering from the stands at all of her kids' sporting events. You can find her yelling and ringing her cowbell on Friday nights at football games, much to the embarrassment of her teenage son. She is very active in her kids' elementary school PTO. Being able to provide fun and enriching activities and rewards to students and staff brings her great joy. She also spends a good amount of time working with her physically handicapped daughter on home-based occupational and physical therapy. After years of skilled therapy sessions, it’s almost become a second profession.

In her own private free time, she enjoys reading romance novels from an array of genres. She is also obsessed with home renovation shows and constantly pesters her husband with all the project ideas she has for around the house.
